Sea to Summit: Maine Lighthouses & More!

This program is currently unavailable. Click here to view all of our current programs.

How many lighthouses can we visit in one day?!  Let’s start the day with Marshall Point Lighthouse in Port Clyde, made famous by eveyone’s favorite move, Forest Gump!  We’ll make our way up the coast to Owl’s Head Lighthouse and enjoy expansive views of Penobscot Bay from the rugged seaside cliffs.  Let’s grab a picnic lunch at Market Basket, a gourmet market and bakery with something for everyone.  Next stop:  the summit of Mt. Battie!  We’ll enjoy a relaxed mountaintop lunch while admiring the scenery that surrounds us in the Camden Hills.  After lunch, let’s head to the Rockland Breakwater, an impressive man-made, mile-long granite breakwater that leads us to our third and final lighthouse of the day!  Lunch (sandwich, chips bottle of water and a cookie) and park admission are included in the cost of the trip.  Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes.  Please bring layers, snack and water, an insulated cooler bag for grocery purchases (if you plan to shop along the way) and a sense of adventure!
