Pelvic Health and Why It Matters for Women and Men *Online Class*

This program is currently unavailable. Click here to view all of our current programs.

Do you think urinary urgency and incontinence are a normal and inevitable part of aging? They aren't, and you aren't alone in thinking they are. When it comes to pelvic health many people are unaware of what constitutes healthy pelvic function. Learn about these and other pelvic health issues along with how physical therapy treatment can address common symptoms. This overview class will cover: basic anatomy and function of the pelvic floor and deep core system, how function can be compromised, and teach several practical tips to improve bladder health to use at home.

By the end of the class participants will have gained better understanding and awareness about the importance of pelvic health and options for treatment. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation. Answers will be general as individualized questions cannot be answered due to privacy and other reasons.

Note: Anatomical pictures of the pelvic organs and pelvic floor muscles in women and men will be included as part of the presentation. If you prefer not to see the pictures you will given a chance to change your screen view before the pictures are shown.
