Through discovery style learning and inquiry based dialogue, children are engaged in exciting STEM projects that encourage them to explore the many wonders of science.
This year there will be separate programs at the Rowe School (K-1) and YES (2-5). Please notice the grade range when registering your child.

Plant Lab Fun Grades K-1
Are plants alive? What do they need to survive & thrive? Do we (mammals) have something in common with plants? Answer those questions as we explore everything plants. Use plants for art, learn about invasive species, explore all the ways plants defend themselves, learn about extinct plants, make a plant fossil and much more fun hands-on plants science!

SuperPowers: The Amazing Powers of Nature Grades K-1
Does nature have superpowers? In this series we will explore the amazing powers found in nature. From flying squirrels to the survivors of the big extinction. Are there any species that lived during the Jurassic period and can still be spotted alive on Earth? We will examine those and so many other questions through hands-on, fun, science activities.

Earthscapades Grades K-1
From the creepy crawlies that live on the surface to the beautiful gems buried way deep in the Earth, this program will journey through the magnificent marvels of Earth and the features that make it so unique. We will examine those and so many other questions through hands-on, fun, science activities.

Earth-O-Sphere Grades K-1
Discover all there is to know about the Earth from the layers underground and the how fossils got there to the sun and what it is made of! Blast into space and learn about Mars and the moon.

Forensic Fun K-1
Calling all detectives for this fun exploration of forensic science! We will investigate crime scene, test mystery powders, get a closeup on teeth prints and fingerprints, learn about different tools used to analyze a crime and so much more!

It’s a Small World: Microscopy & Chemistry Grades 2-5
Discover the tiniest things that are the building blocks of EVERYTHING around us! From atoms to molecules and what is the Periodic Table? We will zoom in and examine things through microscopes; find out how plants look like up close, examine tiny organisms, like tardigrades, also known as water bears and so much more!

Inventions & Engineering: Inventors, Engineers & Problem Solvers Grades 2-5
Calling all problem solvers who love challenges! We will encounter many problems, from engineering, to forensics. Did someone say hidden messages? Uncover how you can write secret messages, build a bridge, solve a crime scene mystery, find the missing bird and more. We will have fun working together as we look for solutions to those and other challenges.

Galactic Explorers Grades 2-5
Fasten your belts and get ready for a blast off! We are going on a roleplay as a crew of galactic explorers, launching into a deep space exploration overcoming challenges to survive in the vast reaches of space!

Are you ready to become an engineer? Learn all about the laws of Newton as you build machines, soaring rockets, rollercoasters, bridges and more! You'll even create your own invention!

Biology Brainiacs 2-5
Become a Biology Brainiac as we explore the world of biology! Get your brain buzzing and take an up-close look at your eyes. Learn about your bones, dig deep through layers of skin, dissect organs, get a microscopic view of your cells, build a model of and extract DNA!
