This immersive two-session workshop invites students to design and create a refined,
small-scale 3D epoxy artwork inspired by the textures and movement of the Maine coast.
Blending painting, natural materials, and resin techniques, participants will leave with a
dimensional, gallery-worthy piece ready for display.
Workshop Format
• Two sessions, 2 hours each (4 instructional hours total)
• Beginner-friendly; no prior resin or painting experience required
• All materials included
Session One: Building the Landscape
Students will paint a foundational base and build dimension using curated natural elements
such as moss, rocks, shells, and sand. Instruction will focus on thoughtful composition,
balance, layering, and designing with intention so that the final resin pour enhances the
structure rather than overwhelms it.
Session Two: Epoxy Wave Pour
Students will learn proper epoxy safety, mixing ratios, tinting, and controlled pour techniques to achieve a translucent ocean effect. Demonstrations will include wave lacing, depth control, and finishing methods that result in a professional, polished surface.
