Basketball (Grades 1-6)
Youth Basketball Program
Our Youth Basketball Program is designed to promote skill development, teamwork, and a love for the game in a fun and supportive environment. Open to grades 1-6, the program focuses on teaching fundamental basketball skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense through structured practices and age-appropriate games. Participants will build confidence, improve physical fitness, and learn the value of sportsmanship and collaboration. All skill levels are welcome!

Grades 1 & 2

Build a love for the game with Saturday morning hoops! Emphasis is on skills, drills, having fun and learning the game. Players are divided into age and gender appropriate teams. Weekly sessions begin with a team practice and roll into a short scrimmage with another team. Participants will receive a program t-shirt to keep!
- Dates: Saturdays, December 5th – February 6th (Skip 12/26 & 1/2)
- Boys teams times: One-hour sessions between 9am-11am.
- Girl teams times: One-hour sessions between 11am-1pm.
- Grades: 1 - 2
- Location: YES School Gym

Grades 3 & 4 Basketball

Get a jump start on basketball with this YCS basketball program focused on skill development. Each team will have one weeknight practice and Saturday games with Brunswick and RSU5 teams. Games are officiated, but score is not kept. Games will be in the Rowe School gym, Brunswick, and RSU5 gyms. A Preseason Placement Clinic will be held to help with the creation of balanced teams. Participants will receive a program shirt to keep.
- Practice Dates: One weeknight November 16th – February 5th. Timing dependent upon volunteer coach availability and will be set after registration closes. No practice the weeks of 11/23, 12/21 or 12/28. Open gym times may be offered over these holiday weeks.
- Game Dates: Games are on Saturdays beginning 12/5 between 9:00am-1:00pm (No Games 12/26 & 1/2)

- Location: ROWE Gym
- Fee: $115
- 3rd/4th Girls Placement Clinic Date: November 4th 5-6pm at YES Gym
- 3rd/4th Boys Placement Clinic Date: November 4th 6:30-7:30pm at YES Gym

Grades 5 & 6 Basketball

5th & 6th grade basketball will focus on skill development and fundamentals in this in-house league. Each team will have one practice and one game on weeknights only. A Preseason Placement Clinic will be held to help with the creation of balanced teams. Games are officiated and score is kept by a Gym Supervisor. Participants will receive a program jersey to borrow.
- Practice Dates: Mon, Tues, or Wed between November 16th – February 5th. Timing dependent upon volunteer coach availability and will be set after registration closes. No practice the weeks of 11/23, 12/21 or 12/28. Open gym times may be offered over these holiday weeks.
- Game Dates: Thursday or Friday evenings beginning 12/3 between 5-8pm (No Games 12/24, 12/25, 12/31, 1/1)
- Grades: 5 & 6
