2026 Garden Plot
Yarmouth Community GardenCome Grow with us! Garden Plot Renters get a 10 X 10 ft sunny organic garden plot for:$40/plot for residents and $43/plot for non-residents.Plots include fencing, tools, water, compost, and gardening advice.Registration will open on January 1, 2026: register online, call 846-2406, or come to YCS. We require that renters volunteer 6 hours per plot in our Community Garden where we grow vegetables for donation to the Yarmouth Community Food Pantry and Yarmouth Senior communities.
Our gardens are gorgeous -- come tour or rest in the shade. Volunteers are welcome and staff will provide guidance. We harvest every Tuesday and Saturday morning in the growing season. Look for us on East Main St. between Estabrook's Nursery and the Yarmouth Transfer Station at the Frank Knight Forest. We are a community of gardeners.Questions about the waitlist? Pee Wee Field Hockey (Grades Pre K-2)
This youth field hockey league teaches the fundamentals of the game of field hockey. During the program players progress from stick skill development to basic defense, team offense and positioning on the field. PreK - 2nd grade practices are on Saturday mornings 10:30-11:30am on the Turf with the High School coaches and players. Kids are grouped by appropriate age (PreK-K, grades 1-2). Games and scrimmages are held on a few Sunday mornings (dates announced late August). 3rd - 6th grade practices are twice a week: Typically Wednesdays or Thursdays 5-6pm (day of the week will depend on HS schedule) on the YHS Field Hockey Grass Field. Skill development clinics for both age groups (3rd-6th as well as PK-2) are on Saturday mornings 10:30-11:30am on the Turf with the High School coaches and players. Games and scrimmages are held on a few Sunday mornings (dates for practices and Sunday games announced late August). **6TH grade note: Sometimes 6th graders have the opportunity to play middle school field hockey (which is 4 days a week after school) but that depends on HMS 7/8th grade numbers each year and that opportunity would not open up to 6th graders until the first week of September. If 6th graders are offered that option, 6th graders can do BOTH (Youth League and Middle School) or request a refund for Youth League with YCS. Please sign up for the Youth League through YCS if you have a 6th grader who wants to play FH! This is a great opportunity to continue to develop or try a new sport while improving skills and having fun in a team sport environment! Shin guards, sticks, eye protection (optional) and mouth guards are required. Sticks are available upon request. Fall Ramblers Grades 3-6 (Monday Practices)
Royal River RamblersChildren in grades 1st-6th who enjoy running will thrive in this program which includes warm-ups, stretches, running, lots of games, and meets with other towns! This program emphasizes discovering a love for running and personal goal setting. To allow more kids to take part in Ramblers, there will be two groups - a group that practices on Mondays and a group that practices on Tuesdays. Cross country running meets with other community teams are on Wednesdays for all ages. Other communities who Ramblers will have meets with include Topsham, Harpswell, Brunswick, Falmouth, RSU 5, and Cumberland. Instructor: Nadia NashedPractices: Beginning the week of 9/14. The final practice will be on Monday 10/19 for both age groups to celebrate the season!

Open Studio: Calm Creativity
Awakening imagination and creativity in a calm, centered, co-creative atmosphere. Kids will use a wide array of materials to make projects of their choosing.New materials and techniques will be introduced to the studio each week. The kids will work independently, while the instructor visits anyone who has a question or needs some assistance. Collaborations and group works are encouraged here.A soundtrack of meditative, instrumental music will be played in the studio space to set the tone and atmosphere.Kids can bring projects in from home, continue work from previous sessions or start fresh each meetup. Golf 101: Tee It Up (1st-5th Grade) Tuesday
Next On the Tee Academy's Golf 101: Tee It Up program provides accessible, high-quality, small-cohort golf instruction that builds fundamentals, course etiquette, and a lifelong love of the game. This program will help entry level golfers be more prepared to enter into a high school team, and also improve on skills for future play, or medium level players to hone in skills they have previously learned. Grades: 1st-5th Dates: Tuesdays OR Thursdays from 9/29-10/29 (5 weeks) with an additional day at Freeport Driving Range on Saturday 10/31Time: 3:30-5:00pmGolf Driving Range Day: 10/31 from 9:30-11am (Thursday group) and 11:30-1 (Tuesday group) at Freeport Driving Range. Participants may attend either time range, but will preferably come during their group's time. Location: Royal River Park - Rowe students may meet the instructor after school. Fall Ramblers Grades 1-2 (Tuesday Practice)
Royal River RamblersChildren in grades 1st-6th who enjoy running will thrive in this program which includes warm-ups, stretches, running, lots of games, and meets with other towns! This program emphasizes discovering a love for running and personal goal setting. To allow more kids to take part in Ramblers, there will be two groups - a group that practices on Mondays and a group that practices on Tuesdays. Cross country running meets with other community teams are on Wednesdays for all ages. Other communities who Ramblers will have meets with include Topsham, Harpswell, Brunswick, Falmouth, RSU 5, and Cumberland. Instructor: Nadia NashedPractices: Beginning the week of 9/14. The final practice will be on Monday 10/19 for both age groups to celebrate the season!

Youth Field Hockey League (Grades 3-6)
This youth field hockey league teaches the fundamentals of the game of field hockey. During the program players progress from stick skill development to basic defense, team offense and positioning on the field. PreK - 2nd grade practices are on Saturday mornings 10:30-11:30am on the Turf with the High School coaches and players. Kids are grouped by appropriate age (PreK-K, grades 1-2). Games and scrimmages are held on a few Sunday mornings (dates announced late August). 3rd - 6th grade practices are twice a week: Typically Wednesdays or Thursdays 5-6pm (day of the week will depend on HS schedule) on the YHS Field Hockey Grass Field. Skill development clinics for both age groups (3rd-6th as well as PK-2) are on Saturday mornings 10:30-11:30am on the Turf with the High School coaches and players. Games and scrimmages are held on a few Sunday mornings (dates for practices and Sunday games announced late August). **6TH grade note: Sometimes 6th graders have the opportunity to play middle school field hockey (which is 4 days a week after school) but that depends on HMS 7/8th grade numbers each year and that opportunity would not open up to 6th graders until the first week of September. If 6th graders are offered that option, 6th graders can do BOTH (Youth League and Middle School) or request a refund for Youth League with YCS. Please sign up for the Youth League through YCS if you have a 6th grader who wants to play FH! This is a great opportunity to continue to develop or try a new sport while improving skills and having fun in a team sport environment! Shin guards, sticks, eye protection (optional) and mouth guards are required. Sticks are available upon request. Next On the Tee Academy's Golf 101: Tee It Up program provides accessible, high-quality, small-cohort golf instruction that builds fundamentals, course etiquette, and a lifelong love of the game. This program will help entry level golfers be more prepared to enter into a high school team, and also improve on skills for future play, or medium level players to hone in skills they have previously learned. Interactive Coding for Kids
Interactive Coding for KidsIn this hands-on class, students explore Scratch programming, using the MIT-developed programming interface to craft stories and games. Then we will use Makey Makey boards to invent new ways to interact with the Scratch projects using everyday objects. Our circuitry projects will become musical instruments, video game controllers, pressure sensors, and more. Students will learn valuable 21st-century skills while engaging in these fun, creative lessons. Collaborative project challenges enhance teamwork skills and inspire critical thinking. No prior coding experience required. Robot Commanders 101 Understanding how software can interact with robots is a key skill for the STEM jobs of tomorrow. In this class we provide several active, playful activities, where students learn about what it means to write, debug, and execute computer programs that communicate with different robotic devices. Using the power of code, students will turn Sphero SPRK+ robots into Magic 8 Balls, automated Red Light / Green Light games, and the arcade classic Pong – and Unruly Splats will become our voting machines, relay races, guessing games, and more. App Inventors Want to know how the apps work on your phone or iPad? Or do you already have the next great app idea, and just need to know how to make it? In this no-experience-required course, we use MIT App Inventor software to make fun, creative apps for Android phones and tablets. We will also explore wireless communication by building custom Bluetooth hardware controllers and readouts for our apps. Participants will learn both the programming and design aspects of creating great apps, and have the opportunity to build apps of their own with the support of Circuit Lab instructors.

Pee Wee Field Hockey (Grades Pre K-2)
This youth field hockey league teaches the fundamentals of the game of field hockey. During the program players progress from stick skill development to basic defense, team offense and positioning on the field. PreK - 2nd grade practices are on Saturday mornings 10:30-11:30am on the Turf with the High School coaches and players. Kids are grouped by appropriate age (PreK-K, grades 1-2). Games and scrimmages are held on a few Sunday mornings (dates announced late August). 3rd - 6th grade practices are twice a week: Typically Wednesdays or Thursdays 5-6pm (day of the week will depend on HS schedule) on the YHS Field Hockey Grass Field. Skill development clinics for both age groups (3rd-6th as well as PK-2) are on Saturday mornings 10:30-11:30am on the Turf with the High School coaches and players. Games and scrimmages are held on a few Sunday mornings (dates for practices and Sunday games announced late August). **6TH grade note: Sometimes 6th graders have the opportunity to play middle school field hockey (which is 4 days a week after school) but that depends on HMS 7/8th grade numbers each year and that opportunity would not open up to 6th graders until the first week of September. If 6th graders are offered that option, 6th graders can do BOTH (Youth League and Middle School) or request a refund for Youth League with YCS. Please sign up for the Youth League through YCS if you have a 6th grader who wants to play FH! This is a great opportunity to continue to develop or try a new sport while improving skills and having fun in a team sport environment! Shin guards, sticks, eye protection (optional) and mouth guards are required. Sticks are available upon request. We require that renters volunteer 6 hours per plot in our Community Garden where we grow vegetables for donation to the Yarmouth Community Food Pantry and Yarmouth Senior communities.
Our gardens are gorgeous -- come tour or rest in the shade. Volunteers are welcome and staff will provide guidance. We harvest every Tuesday and Saturday morning in the growing season. Equipment is used throughout the season from approximately December through the middle-to-the-end of March. Please stop by the YCS office to ensure we have the proper sizes for your children. We have a limited amount of equipment, and it tends to go fast!Grades: 1-8Fee: $80 for the season includes boots, poles, skis and equipment bag. Fall Ramblers Grades 3-6 (Monday Practices)
Royal River RamblersChildren in grades 1st-6th who enjoy running will thrive in this program which includes warm-ups, stretches, running, lots of games, and meets with other towns! This program emphasizes discovering a love for running and personal goal setting. To allow more kids to take part in Ramblers, there will be two groups - a group that practices on Mondays and a group that practices on Tuesdays. Cross country running meets with other community teams are on Wednesdays for all ages. Other communities who Ramblers will have meets with include Topsham, Harpswell, Brunswick, Falmouth, RSU 5, and Cumberland. Instructor: Nadia NashedPractices: Beginning the week of 9/14. The final practice will be on Monday 10/19 for both age groups to celebrate the season!

Open Studio: Calm Creativity
Awakening imagination and creativity in a calm, centered, co-creative atmosphere. Kids will use a wide array of materials to make projects of their choosing.New materials and techniques will be introduced to the studio each week. The kids will work independently, while the instructor visits anyone who has a question or needs some assistance. Collaborations and group works are encouraged here.A soundtrack of meditative, instrumental music will be played in the studio space to set the tone and atmosphere.Kids can bring projects in from home, continue work from previous sessions or start fresh each meetup. Golf 101: Tee It Up (1st-5th Grade) Tuesday
Next On the Tee Academy's Golf 101: Tee It Up program provides accessible, high-quality, small-cohort golf instruction that builds fundamentals, course etiquette, and a lifelong love of the game. This program will help entry level golfers be more prepared to enter into a high school team, and also improve on skills for future play, or medium level players to hone in skills they have previously learned. Grades: 1st-5th Dates: Tuesdays OR Thursdays from 9/29-10/29 (5 weeks) with an additional day at Freeport Driving Range on Saturday 10/31Time: 3:30-5:00pmGolf Driving Range Day: 10/31 from 9:30-11am (Thursday group) and 11:30-1 (Tuesday group) at Freeport Driving Range. Participants may attend either time range, but will preferably come during their group's time. Location: Royal River Park - Rowe students may meet the instructor after school. YES students may take the Activity Bus. Next On the Tee Academy's Golf 101: Tee It Up program provides accessible, high-quality, small-cohort golf instruction that builds fundamentals, course etiquette, and a lifelong love of the game. This program will help entry level golfers be more prepared to enter into a high school team, and also improve on skills for future play, or medium level players to hone in skills they have previously learned. Grades: 1st-5th Dates: Tuesdays OR Thursdays from 9/29-10/29 (5 weeks) with an additional day at Freeport Driving Range on Saturday 10/31Time: 3:30-5:00pmGolf Driving Range Day: 10/31 from 9:30-11am (Thursday group) and 11:30-1 (Tuesday group) at Freeport Driving Range. Interactive Coding for Kids
Interactive Coding for KidsIn this hands-on class, students explore Scratch programming, using the MIT-developed programming interface to craft stories and games. Then we will use Makey Makey boards to invent new ways to interact with the Scratch projects using everyday objects. Our circuitry projects will become musical instruments, video game controllers, pressure sensors, and more. Students will learn valuable 21st-century skills while engaging in these fun, creative lessons. Collaborative project challenges enhance teamwork skills and inspire critical thinking. No prior coding experience required. Robot Commanders 101 Understanding how software can interact with robots is a key skill for the STEM jobs of tomorrow. In this class we provide several active, playful activities, where students learn about what it means to write, debug, and execute computer programs that communicate with different robotic devices. Using the power of code, students will turn Sphero SPRK+ robots into Magic 8 Balls, automated Red Light / Green Light games, and the arcade classic Pong – and Unruly Splats will become our voting machines, relay races, guessing games, and more. App Inventors Want to know how the apps work on your phone or iPad? Or do you already have the next great app idea, and just need to know how to make it? In this no-experience-required course, we use MIT App Inventor software to make fun, creative apps for Android phones and tablets. We will also explore wireless communication by building custom Bluetooth hardware controllers and readouts for our apps. Participants will learn both the programming and design aspects of creating great apps, and have the opportunity to build apps of their own with the support of Circuit Lab instructors.

Open Studio: Calm Creativity
Awakening imagination and creativity in a calm, centered, co-creative atmosphere. Kids will use a wide array of materials to make projects of their choosing.New materials and techniques will be introduced to the studio each week. The kids will work independently, while the instructor visits anyone who has a question or needs some assistance. Collaborations and group works are encouraged here.A soundtrack of meditative, instrumental music will be played in the studio space to set the tone and atmosphere.Kids can bring projects in from home, continue work from previous sessions or start fresh each meetup. Next On the Tee Academy's Golf 101: Tee It Up program provides accessible, high-quality, small-cohort golf instruction that builds fundamentals, course etiquette, and a lifelong love of the game. This program will help entry level golfers be more prepared to enter into a high school team, and also improve on skills for future play, or medium level players to hone in skills they have previously learned. Our gardens are gorgeous -- come tour or rest in the shade. Volunteers are welcome and staff will provide guidance. We harvest every Tuesday and Saturday morning in the growing season. Glass Express Creation Station
We are going to the Stained Glass Express Creation Station AGAIN to create fused glass art! Choose from votives, various small plates, picture frames, ornaments/magnets, a night light, and even a large square platter. Prices range from $20-$95 and include all the materials and instructions you will need. (Cost of project is not included in the fee) Creation Station projects are made with fusible glass and glue—that’s it! You’ll choose your background and accessories according to the simple instructions, then sit right down in our large, brightly lit classroom to design and assemble. Once you’ve got everything together the way you like, the staff will put the glass in the kiln and fuse it together into one piece. (YCS will pickup completed glass art approximately 2-weeks after the class.)Create a unique piece of glass art and a special memory at the same time!You may also want to shop before/after creating your glass art in this amazing store.After, we will visit a local eatery for lunch before returning to Yarmouth.

Interactive Coding for Kids
Interactive Coding for KidsIn this hands-on class, students explore Scratch programming, using the MIT-developed programming interface to craft stories and games. Then we will use Makey Makey boards to invent new ways to interact with the Scratch projects using everyday objects. Our circuitry projects will become musical instruments, video game controllers, pressure sensors, and more. Students will learn valuable 21st-century skills while engaging in these fun, creative lessons. Collaborative project challenges enhance teamwork skills and inspire critical thinking. No prior coding experience required. Robot Commanders 101 Understanding how software can interact with robots is a key skill for the STEM jobs of tomorrow. In this class we provide several active, playful activities, where students learn about what it means to write, debug, and execute computer programs that communicate with different robotic devices. Using the power of code, students will turn Sphero SPRK+ robots into Magic 8 Balls, automated Red Light / Green Light games, and the arcade classic Pong – and Unruly Splats will become our voting machines, relay races, guessing games, and more. App Inventors Want to know how the apps work on your phone or iPad? Or do you already have the next great app idea, and just need to know how to make it? In this no-experience-required course, we use MIT App Inventor software to make fun, creative apps for Android phones and tablets. We will also explore wireless communication by building custom Bluetooth hardware controllers and readouts for our apps. Participants will learn both the programming and design aspects of creating great apps, and have the opportunity to build apps of their own with the support of Circuit Lab instructors.

This class is for the active and enthusiastic dancer. Each 50 minute class will include warm up, conditioning, stretching, individual, group, and partner dancing. Next On the Tee Academy's Golf 101: Tee It Up program provides accessible, high-quality, small-cohort golf instruction that builds fundamentals, course etiquette, and a lifelong love of the game. This program will help entry level golfers be more prepared to enter into a high school team, and also improve on skills for future play, or medium level players to hone in skills they have previously learned. Robot Commanders
Interactive Coding for KidsIn this hands-on class, students explore Scratch programming, using the MIT-developed programming interface to craft stories and games. Then we will use Makey Makey boards to invent new ways to interact with the Scratch projects using everyday objects. Our circuitry projects will become musical instruments, video game controllers, pressure sensors, and more. Students will learn valuable 21st-century skills while engaging in these fun, creative lessons. Collaborative project challenges enhance teamwork skills and inspire critical thinking. No prior coding experience required. Robot Commanders 101 Understanding how software can interact with robots is a key skill for the STEM jobs of tomorrow. In this class we provide several active, playful activities, where students learn about what it means to write, debug, and execute computer programs that communicate with different robotic devices. Using the power of code, students will turn Sphero SPRK+ robots into Magic 8 Balls, automated Red Light / Green Light games, and the arcade classic Pong – and Unruly Splats will become our voting machines, relay races, guessing games, and more. App Inventors Want to know how the apps work on your phone or iPad? Or do you already have the next great app idea, and just need to know how to make it? In this no-experience-required course, we use MIT App Inventor software to make fun, creative apps for Android phones and tablets. We will also explore wireless communication by building custom Bluetooth hardware controllers and readouts for our apps. Participants will learn both the programming and design aspects of creating great apps, and have the opportunity to build apps of their own with the support of Circuit Lab instructors.

FOR RESIDENTS ONLY. Ski with our Nordic Program (grades 3-6) or on your own! Rental equipment is a great value and you won’t have to keep up with your growing student’s sizes each year! Equipment is used throughout the season from approximately December through the middle-to-the-end of March. Please stop by the YCS office to ensure we have the proper sizes for your children. We have a limited amount of equipment, and it tends to go fast!Grades: 1-8Fee: $80 for the season includes boots, poles, skis and equipment bag. Brick by Brick Maine: Lego Woodland Creatures
Join us for one of these fun Lego Classes!Building and playing with Lego bricks help children develop cognitive skills and learn concepts like size and shape, quantity, order and pattern. Structural building with Legos stimulates critical thinking and encourages creative problem solving. After reading a short story related to the build of the week, students will complete a step by step build of that object followed by free building time with a huge assortment of Lego bricks! Open Studio: Calm Creativity
Awakening imagination and creativity in a calm, centered, co-creative atmosphere. Kids will use a wide array of materials to make projects of their choosing.New materials and techniques will be introduced to the studio each week. The kids will work independently, while the instructor visits anyone who has a question or needs some assistance. Collaborations and group works are encouraged here.A soundtrack of meditative, instrumental music will be played in the studio space to set the tone and atmosphere.Kids can bring projects in from home, continue work from previous sessions or start fresh each meetup.
