Community Garden - 2024 Garden Plot
Yarmouth Community GardenCome Grow with us! Garden Plot Renters get a 10 X 10 ft sunny organic garden plot for:$40/plot for residents and $43/plot for non-residents.Plots include fencing, tools, water, compost, and gardening advice.Registration will open on January 1, 2024: register online, call 846-2406, or come to YCS. We ask that renters volunteer in our Community Garden where we grow vegetables for donation to the Yarmouth Community Food Pantry, Yarmouth Senior Housing, and Lunch Crunch program for children. Our gardens are gorgeous -- come tour or rest in the shade. Volunteers are welcome and staff will provide guidance. We harvest every Tuesday and Saturday morning in the growing season. Look for us on East Main St. between Estabrook's Nursery and the Yarmouth Transfer Station at the Frank Knight Forest. We are a community of gardeners.Questions about the waitlist? Investigate robotic fundamentals with curious robots, learn about the history and current field of robotics, explore robot design potential by using robots that have big personalities, and build ingenious robots to take home. Compare, analyze, and test a variety of robots every day that are correlated to the daily concepts. We will explore circuits, electricity, sensors, gears, and advanced robotic applications. Learn about the mechanical aspects of robots with gears, gear ratios, and torque. Pick up the basics of electricity by snapping together circuits to make a remote-control rover robot. Kuhapdo is a Korean sword art with its roots in Iaido, the Japanese martial art of the Samurai. Kuhapdo classes incorporate physical exercise and philosophical principles in the learning of hyung (prescribed movements). Students work with wooden swords on exercise that build strength, body awareness, coordination, and mental focus. Equipment for this class will be supplied by the teacher. Yarmouth Community GardenCome Grow with us! Garden Plot Renters get a 10 X 10 ft sunny organic garden plot for:$40/plot for residents and $43/plot for non-residents.Plots include fencing, tools, water, compost, and gardening advice.Registration will open on January 1, 2024: register online, call 846-2406, or come to YCS. We ask that renters volunteer in our Community Garden where we grow vegetables for donation to the Yarmouth Community Food Pantry, Yarmouth Senior Housing, and Lunch Crunch program for children. Our gardens are gorgeous -- come tour or rest in the shade. Volunteers are welcome and staff will provide guidance. We harvest every Tuesday and Saturday morning in the growing season. Yarmouth Community GardenCome Grow with us! Garden Plot Renters get a 10 X 10 ft sunny organic garden plot for:$40/plot for residents and $43/plot for non-residents.Plots include fencing, tools, water, compost, and gardening advice.Registration will open on January 1, 2024: register online, call 846-2406, or come to YCS. We ask that renters volunteer in our Community Garden where we grow vegetables for donation to the Yarmouth Community Food Pantry, Yarmouth Senior Housing, and Lunch Crunch program for children. Our gardens are gorgeous -- come tour or rest in the shade. Volunteers are welcome and staff will provide guidance. We harvest every Tuesday and Saturday morning in the growing season. If you love strategy games no matter the setting, this program will be an ideal opportunity to engage in fun, thoughtful, and lighthearted competition through a variety of games, both old and new. From classic table top games such as chess and Settlers of Catan, to backyard games like Bocce and Kubb, kids will spend the week engaging in a wide variety of strategy games both inside and outside. We’ll canoe down the Royal River in Yarmouth and swim at Range Pond in the afternoon. Your child will learn canoeing skills and a bit about native of flora and fauna through games and activities. No previous experience required and we will provide canoes, paddles, and lifejackets. Bring lunch, snacks, bathing suit, a full water bottle and shoes you don’t mind getting wet. In the afternoon, we will go to Range Pond and swim and paddle board! Looking for adults interested in recreational bicyclingYCS is looking into forming an Adult Recreational Bicycling Group to ride in a group on local roads for 10 - 15 mile rides. Basic etiquette of group riding and safety will be discussed. This will be a recreational ride with an average speed of 10 - 14 MPH.Must have a bicycle that is safe and in good working condition and a bicycling helmet.

Yarmouth Community GardenCome Grow with us! Garden Plot Renters get a 10 X 10 ft sunny organic garden plot for:$40/plot for residents and $43/plot for non-residents.Plots include fencing, tools, water, compost, and gardening advice.Registration will open on January 1, 2024: register online, call 846-2406, or come to YCS. We ask that renters volunteer in our Community Garden where we grow vegetables for donation to the Yarmouth Community Food Pantry, Yarmouth Senior Housing, and Lunch Crunch program for children. Our gardens are gorgeous -- come tour or rest in the shade. Volunteers are welcome and staff will provide guidance. We harvest every Tuesday and Saturday morning in the growing season. Join us for a visit to the 3 museums at the Poland Springs Resort. All 3 buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places! 1. The Maine State Building was built for the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago. At the end of the fair the Ricker family of Poland Spring bought the building, took it down piece by piece, put it on a 16-car freight train and brought it to Poland Spring! 2. The 1912 All Souls Chapel is made of Maine granite, quartered sawn oak and a floor of inlaid mosaic of beautiful and expensive design. You’ll be amazed at the hand painted windows. 3. The original bottling facility and spring house is now the Poland Spring Bottling Museum. Through scientific displays and vintage memorabilia, the museum offers a close up look at one of Maine’s oldest industries. We can find lunch at Mel's Hilltop Restaurant on the property (on your own), or bring a brown bag lunch and enjoy a picnic on the grounds. We will visit the gift shop before heading home.

Yarmouth Community GardenCome Grow with us! Garden Plot Renters get a 10 X 10 ft sunny organic garden plot for:$40/plot for residents and $43/plot for non-residents.Plots include fencing, tools, water, compost, and gardening advice.Registration will open on January 1, 2024: register online, call 846-2406, or come to YCS. We ask that renters volunteer in our Community Garden where we grow vegetables for donation to the Yarmouth Community Food Pantry, Yarmouth Senior Housing, and Lunch Crunch program for children. Our gardens are gorgeous -- come tour or rest in the shade. Volunteers are welcome and staff will provide guidance. We harvest every Tuesday and Saturday morning in the growing season. Look for us on East Main St. between Estabrook's Nursery and the Yarmouth Transfer Station at the Frank Knight Forest. We are a community of gardeners.Questions about the waitlist? Yarmouth Community GardenCome Grow with us! Garden Plot Renters get a 10 X 10 ft sunny organic garden plot for:$40/plot for residents and $43/plot for non-residents.Plots include fencing, tools, water, compost, and gardening advice.Registration will open on January 1, 2024: register online, call 846-2406, or come to YCS. We ask that renters volunteer in our Community Garden where we grow vegetables for donation to the Yarmouth Community Food Pantry, Yarmouth Senior Housing, and Lunch Crunch program for children. Our gardens are gorgeous -- come tour or rest in the shade. Volunteers are welcome and staff will provide guidance. We harvest every Tuesday and Saturday morning in the growing season. Garden Plot Renters get a 10 X 10 ft sunny organic garden plot for:$40/plot for residents and $43/plot for non-residents.Plots include fencing, tools, water, compost, and gardening advice.Registration will open on January 1, 2024: register online, call 846-2406, or come to YCS. We ask that renters volunteer in our Community Garden where we grow vegetables for donation to the Yarmouth Community Food Pantry, Yarmouth Senior Housing, and Lunch Crunch program for children. Our gardens are gorgeous -- come tour or rest in the shade. Volunteers are welcome and staff will provide guidance. We harvest every Tuesday and Saturday morning in the growing season. Garden Plot Renters get a 10 X 10 ft sunny organic garden plot for:$40/plot for residents and $43/plot for non-residents.Plots include fencing, tools, water, compost, and gardening advice.Registration will open on January 1, 2024: register online, call 846-2406, or come to YCS. We ask that renters volunteer in our Community Garden where we grow vegetables for donation to the Yarmouth Community Food Pantry, Yarmouth Senior Housing, and Lunch Crunch program for children. Our gardens are gorgeous -- come tour or rest in the shade. Volunteers are welcome and staff will provide guidance. We harvest every Tuesday and Saturday morning in the growing season. Looking for adults interested in recreational bicyclingYCS is looking into forming an Adult Recreational Bicycling Group to ride in a group on local roads for 10 - 15 mile rides. Basic etiquette of group riding and safety will be discussed. This will be a recreational ride with an average speed of 10 - 14 MPH.Must have a bicycle that is safe and in good working condition and a bicycling helmet.
